Why You’ll Love This Bread
Easy to make: This easy recipe requires very little hands-on time, so you can whip it up and make the rest of your meal while it bakes. Garlic bread is the easiest way to make a side dish for any meal.
Cheesy: Garlic bread with cheese is hard to beat. This bread is stuffed with gooey cheese, making a decadent and flavorful bread.
Customizable: You can make this bread to suit your personal preferences and needs! The herbs, cheese, and bread can be substituted with great results.
Ingredients
Bread: You can use a loaf of your favorite bread; French bread, Italian bread, or sourdough are great choices. I think the best bread is a rustic Italian loaf with a crispy crust.
Butter: We will be using softened, salted butter for this garlic bread. To make a unique, extra-flavorful garlic bread, try herb butter or this tasty pesto butter.
Garlic: The star of the show in this garlicky bread! Fresh garlic is the way to go, but for a more mild flavor, you can use garlic powder.
Seasonings: We will add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and fresh parsley to add some flavor and color to this bread.
Cheese: A combination of mozzarella and parmesan will make delicious bread with loads of cheesy goodness. A heavy dose of cheese is what makes this a “stuffed” garlic bread. Feel free to use different cheeses, but don’t skip the cheese!
How to Make Stuffed Garlic Bread
Stuffed garlic bread is an extra-cheesy, fun way to make garlic bread. To make your garlic bread “stuffed,” you must cut the bread a specific way and pack it with cheese before baking.
Cutting bread for stuffed garlic bread seems complicated, but it is actually quite simple. Using a serrated knife, you will slice the bread into 1-2 inch slices, as you would usually. The twist is that you won’t slice the knife all the way to the bottom of the loaf. Leaving ½ inch intact at the bottom of the loaf keeps the loaf in one piece but allows you to stuff each cut with cheese, garlic, and butter for stuffed cheesy bread.
Once the bread is cut, we will slather homemade garlic butter in each cut and stuff the gaps full of cheese. The bread gets baked in foil on a baking tray to make warm, melty garlic bread.

Ingredients
1 loaf of bread
½ cup softened butter
5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Begin by slicing your bread loaf. Using a cutting board and a serrated bread knife, slice the bread into 1-2 inch thick sections. Do not slice all the way down to the bottom of the loaf; leave ½ inch of bread intact at the bottom of the loaf to make pull-apart bread.
- In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, and herbs. Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Mix the mozzarella cheese with the parmesan cheese in a separate bowl.
- Make your garlic bread by spreading a layer of garlic butter mixture in between each bread slice. Take a big pinch of cheese and stuff it in between each cut section of bread.
- Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake the bread for about 20 minutes, until the butter and cheese are melty and the bread is warm. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes to crisp up the outside of the bread.
- To enjoy, tear off a slice of bread.
