The Four BEST Pizza Places In Stowe, VT

Featured photo by @thedeependstowe on Instagram

I think this might be something like my fourth article about Stowe, VT?

But honestly, if you’ve ever been, you’d understand why I keep writing about this great place.

By nature, I am a huge outdoors person. I love skiing, swimming, hiking, and everything that falls into those categories.

And Stowe VT is the perfect place to enjoy all of those outdoor adventures.

It has some of the best ski areas Vermont has to offer, multiple mountains for hiking, cross country skiing trails, and everything in between.

It’s a New England outdoor haven, and the food is no different.

What Makes The Stowe VT Food So Great?

Part of what I love about the food in Stowe is the general commitment to supporting local farmers and merchants.

So many, if not most of these places source their ingredients locally, with the freshest ingredients, to support the local agriculture in Vermont. You can taste the difference too, as most of the food you find here is as fresh as can be.

You’ll find that a lot of these local restaurants (no, really, most of them are all located right on Mountain Road) brew their own beer, smoke their own meat, and get all of the rest of their ingredients right down the street.

If that’s not the best local food you can find, I don’t know what is.

That’s why I’m always writing about the food in Stowe; whether it’s coffee, burgers, seafood, fine dining, or even the pizza.

The Pizza of Stowe, Vermont

Listen, it’s just a known fact at this point that you can never go wrong with a good pizza.

Arriving at your vacation destination late at night and want a quick bite? Pizza and salad in the hotel.

Finishing a long day of skiing and hungry enough to eat enough food to feed a family of five? One pepperoni pizza to the face.

Hosting a bunch of people at an AirBNB? Pizzas.

Seeing a pattern here?

No matter what your purpose is for visiting Stowe, it is evident that good food, and mainly pizza, will likely become a source of your time at some point during your trip.

Lucky for you, I’ve mapped out some of the best places for you to enjoy a cheesy slice, right here in one of the best towns in Vermont.

When it comes to amazing Italian food in the heart of Stowe, this family-run pizzeria has really done it all.

Fifty years and three generations ago, these Sicilians crafted their very own pizza recipe, and it has stayed the same ever since.

Everything that you can order here will always be as fresh as possible, as the pizza makers at Piecasso take pride in supporting local Vermont farmers.

If you’re looking for a bunch of innovative dining options, this is the spot for you.

Piecasso also has a wide variety of delicious pasta dishes, fun, unique appetizers, and innovative, nightly specials.

Hit Piecasso on the right night, and you might even be able to hear live music or play a round of trivia. There’s always something to do here!

What people are saying:

If ONLY they had this pizzeria where I lived. Probably the BEST pizza I’ve had in years. Beats any “delivery” pizza place. Great food, the staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere was chill. It’s everything you hope for when going to get a pie and feeling completely satisfied afterwards.” -Savannah, Google

If you’ve never heard of this location of the iconic pizza chain, it’s probably because it’s a brand new restaurant!

Having opened recently in September 2022, this old music venue formerly known as “The Rusty Nail” is now home to one of New England’s most beloved thin-crust pizza spots.

Here, you can get all organically made and locally farmed menu items, such as a wide variety of soups and salads, and of course, their iconic pizza.

A great pie to try is the Power to the People, a massive buffalo chicken pizza featuring red onion, blue cheese, carrots, and mozzarella cheese.

What people are saying:

Wonderful pizza! This coming from a New Yorker = high praise!! Would recommend stopping by here for a drink and getting the Punctuated Equilibrium pizza. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is vibrant for lunch or dinner. If you get a chance, sit by the wood oven to see your pizza being made. Family friendly, great for a date night or girls night! Definitely a must stop when I visit again.” – Kanan, Google

This great place has a near-perfect score on Google Reviews, of over 1000 people.

If that doesn’t tell you that they’re doing it right, nothing will.

Serving classic American fare in a stylish taproom, The Bench has some of the best pizzas the area has to offer.

Start your night with some Mac and Cheese featuring local cheese from Cabot, and continue on with popular classic house-made pizzas, such as the Cubano pizza, or the Hellbrook, with both minced and whole pepperoni.

If pizza isn’t the only thing you have your eye on, it’s no problem! The Bench is serving up some delicious sandwiches and burgers (with veggie and salmon burgers too!) and some hearty entrees, including one of the best chicken pot pies I’ve ever eaten.

No matter what you’re looking for, The Bench has you covered!

What people are saying:

Stopped by on the way home from Burlington, VT.  Before deciding on going here, I looked at the ratings and there were 4.7 stars from 1,100 ratings… And I think that rating was too low.

The atmosphere is rustic, the staff is great, and the food came out quick and piping hot.

Got the salt & vinegar fries to start, yum.

Entreés were moss glen pizza and the buffalo Mac & cheese.  Both are worth writing home about.  If you don’t love buffalo, try a different meal, you cannot go wrong.

Keeping this spot in the back of my mind for next time we are in the area and want a great experience.” – James, Google

With a passion for the best pizza and highest quality ingredients, The Deep End is one of Stowe’s best family pizzerias that you can find.

Every single one of their pizzas is handcrafted with some of the finest Vermont-made ingredients around, making their Neapolitan-style pizzas some of the most popular in the area.

Try one of their specialty pizzas or one of their regular pizzas, you’re guaranteed to love what you eat either way. And if you’re vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free, no problem! You can STILL enjoy pizza here, as they’ve accommodated for all of that with their wide variety of allergen-friendly options.

Some of their other menu items include cheesy garlic sticks, chicken meatballs, and my favorite, buffalo cauliflower.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Stowe without visiting The Deep End for a cheesy slice!

What people are saying:

You would be lucky to find pizza like this in a tourist town. But seriously, this wood fire pizza is good enough to be in nyc. Not only is the crust delicious, but the topping and other ingredients seem to be top notch too. They also have a full bar, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Every time I visit Stowe I want to come here. It is a little expensive but worth it. I really enjoyed the mushroom truffle pizza, but the margarita, and vegetarian food were also good. Eat here, your mouth can thank me later.”
