There are so many delightful ingredients that are in season during the summer. It is the best season to be a home cook or a chef, relishing in the bounty of this time of year.
One of the very best parts of summer is sweet, juicy peaches. I love making peach crisps, peach smoothies, and most of all, peach sangria. It is a great way to enjoy the season and highlight some great ingredients when they are at their peak.
This easy sangria recipe is the perfect summer drink. It is easy to make and super refreshing. If you’re looking for an easy recipe for happy hour or a barbeque on a hot summer day, give this perfect cocktail fruity sangria a try.
Why You’ll Love Peach Strawberry Moscato Sangria
It’s simple: This recipe requires very little hands-on time and just a few easy ingredients. You don’t need special equipment or ingredients you’ve never heard of.
Great for hosting: A giant pitcher of sangria is the perfect way to have an elegant drink for a crowd without any stress or hassle. It is also a great make-ahead cocktail. It is actually better if it can marinate overnight!
Light: Sangria is a great light cocktail to sip on when it’s hot. The bubbles and white wine make it a super refreshing drink.
Ingredients
- Moscato
- Peach Schnapps
- Peaches
- Strawberries
- Other fruit of choice (see ideas below)
- Simple syrup
- Sparkling water
Equipment You’ll Need
- A large pitcher
- A long spoon
- Measuring cups
Variations
The great thing about sangria is that it is very forgiving. If you don’t have all of the ingredients, have dietary restrictions, or simply want to change things up, the sangria will still taste great.
Change the wine: Moscato is a sweet white wine. If you want a less sweet sangria, you could try it with a less sweet wine such as a dry red wine, or a dry white wine like Pinot Grigio or sauvignon blanc.
Add peach nectar: For an extra-peachy sangria, skip the simple syrup and add peach nectar instead.
Add fruit juice: Try lime juice, lemon juice, or orange juice for a fresher, more tart sangria.
Substitute the liqueur: In place of peach schnapps, feel free to try a different flavored liqueur, like triple sec.
Add soda: Instead of the soda water, try ginger ale or lemon lime soda. If you do this, I recommend cutting back on the simple syrup to keep the sangria from being too sweet.
How to Store Leftover Sangria
If you aren’t able to finish a whole pitcher of this fruity white wine sangria in one sitting, don’t worry! Because we left out the ice and sparkling water, the sangria will be good in the fridge for 3-5 days. Simply cover the pitcher or transfer the sangria to a jar and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready for the rest.
The Best Fruits for Sangria
There are so many tasty fruits that are great in sangria! This recipe calls for peaches, strawberries, and citrus. If you would like to add something else, here are my suggestions:
- Fresh berries such as fresh raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries
- Citrus fruits such as lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit
- Mango
- Kiwi
- Apples
- Pineapple
You can’t really go wrong with this fruity drink! Add whatever fruit you have on hand and think it sounds good.
