Colorado Springs is home to many amazing local restaurants. Everything from mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall places to elegant fine dining can be found in this up-and-coming city.
Like many others, I enjoy a good burger and fries. There’s something extra fun about going out to grab a tasty burger for dinner. It’s casual yet satisfying, there are loads of variety in toppings, and you find no shortage of delicious sides.
Whether you’re visiting Colorado Springs or you’re a resident looking for a fantastic meal, you may be wondering which restaurants have the best burgers in the city.
I decided to go on the hunt for the best burger in Colorado Springs and the mission did not disappoint. I tried many different burgers and asked everyone I know where their favorite burger place is.
I can’t say for sure which one is the best, but here are the top 10 contenders.
Skirted Heifer
204 N Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
This downtown gem is known for their local grass-fed beef burgers which come skirted. This means they are grilled with a huge slice of cheddar cheese on top of them, creating a “skirt” of crispy cheese around the patty.
The Skirted Heifer’s burgers are so unique and decadent, the restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri in season 24.
The burgers are phenomenal, the fries are great, and they have a signature sauce that is an absolute must-try!
Skirted Heifer is also home to my favorite veggie burger in town: their house-made black bean quinoa patty (which you can get skirted!)
Green Line Grill
230 1/2 Pueblo Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
This unassuming restaurant received the most votes in my informal poll on the best burger joints in Colorado Springs, and I completely understand why. The building is on the outskirts of downtown and doesn’t look like much, but they make some fantastic food.
Green Line is known for their famous onion-fried burgers, which are made with an “onion fried patty” and grilled onions. The menu boasts a wide variety of delicious options in addition to this classic.
Give them a try and be sure to get an order of delicious hand-cut fries too!
Brakeman’s Burgers
10 S Sierra Madre St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Located in the historic Old Train Depot, Brakeman’s Burgers is a new and well-received addition to the Colorado Springs burger scene.
You can watch the trains whiz by as you enjoy one of their many unique and flavorful burger offerings.
Try the Southwest burger for a taste of Colorado’s signature green chile!
Drifter’s Hamburgers
4455 Mark Dabling Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
Drifter’s is known as the best local fast food place. If you are looking for a quick to-go burger that tastes amazing, this is your place. They serve up old-school classic burgers and fries that are truly cooked to perfection.
Drifter’s has amazing shoestring fries and a signature burger dressing that you have to try! Don’t forget dessert; this place has incredible boysenberry milkshakes.

This quaint, modern burger joint in downtown Colorado Springs serves up some seriously incredible burgers. They have two types of patties which are both made with grass-fed beef. One of the patties, The Bingo, has pueblo chiles mixed into it, making a unique and flavorful burger.
One of the coolest things about Bingo Burger is their huge selection of unique sauces to put on your burger or dip your fries in. There are some really creative options, like lemon rosemary aioli and cranberry bbq sauce.
Make sure you get a side of tater tots with your burger. They have so many delicious options, but one of my top picks is Aunt Pickles’ Hot Tots, which are made with Pueblo chile cheese sauce, Pueblo chiles, and bacon.
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar
1765 Briargate Pkwy Ste 803, Colorado Springs, CO 80920
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is on the North side of Colorado Springs and they have an incredible amount of burger options as well as salads, sides, and other sandwiches.
Their food is high quality and there’s really something for everyone: delicious chicken sandwiches, a flavorful black bean burger, and even a create-your-own salad option.
I’m a huge fan of their jalapeno popper burger with a side of onion rings.
Thunder and Buttons II
2415 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Thunder and Buttons II is absolutely raved about for their bison burgers and fried pickles. They serve up delicious, juicy burgers made with care.
This lively restaurant is named after Old Colorado City’s historic elk that pulled a carriage around town in the 1800s. Rooted in history, it’s a place for great food, beverages, and community engagement.
If you’re feeling adventurous, go try a burger on one of their karaoke nights!
Cy’s Drive-In Restaurant
1833 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Step back in time with this delightfully quaint, old-fashioned drive-in restaurant, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Cy’s Drive-In is a historic burger restaurant that has been serving up delicious burgers since 1953 and their old-fashioned diner motif is still going strong.
This little drive-in offers a unique dining experience with their car hop service, which brings your food right to your car to dine curbside.
My favorite burger to order at Cy’s is the Swiss mushroom burger, but a classic bacon cheeseburger is also hard to beat. You definitely have to try a malt while you’re there, too!
Colorado Mountain Brewery
600 S 21st St Suite 180, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
I don’t even know where to start with all of the amazing food at this relaxing brewery!
Colorado Mountain Brewery is one of my favorite breweries in town and this is largely because of their delicious burgers and huge assortment of sides and starters.
Their San Luis Peak burger is one of the most unique burgers I’ve ever had and you can’t go wrong with their glazed brussels, brewery pretzels, or bison poppers as a side.
Colorado Craft Social
15 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Colorado Craft is one of those special places where you can load up on delicious food while sipping on one of many icy cold Colorado craft beers. This is the spot to try locally crafted offerings and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.
Their burgers are perfectly made and topped with fresh toppings. I also absolutely love their truffle fries and pork green chili cheese fries.
Try their Craft Burger, which is made with Colorado black angus beef, traditional toppings, and their signature Comeback sauce.
Fat Sully’s Pizza
528 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
You wouldn’t expect a pizza joint to have one of the best burgers in town, but they really do! Fat Sully’s Pizza is best known for its massive 26-inch pizza pies, but their burgers shouldn’t be forgotten.
The house-made pickles and brioche buns compliment their fantastic burger patties to make one delicious, classic burger.
