Josh and John’s

329 N Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Josh and John’s has been a star of Colorado Springs ever since they opened in 1986. They make all of their ice cream in-house and boast a wide selection of incredibly rich ice cream. If you’re lucky, you might even catch one of the ice cream makers churning a batch while you’re there!

Their primary location is located in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, so why not make an evening of it and enjoy one of the many downtown restaurants nearby?

Try one of the specials in their house-made waffle cones or get a customer favorite, the oatmeal cookie ice cream. You’ll like it so much that you might find yourself buying a pint to go!

Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery

610 E Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907

Once you have Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery, you won’t be able to forget it. Seriously, I dream of their coconut tart all the time. Boonzaaijers is a lively bakery run by a 4th-generation baker. They offer a wide variety of cakes, tarts, pies, and more.

I love going to Boonzaaijer’s to get an assortment of dessert pastries to take home. The bakery also offers a small cafe where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and a pastry. There are so many delicious desserts at this bakery, it’s hard to choose what to recommend! Besides the coconut tart, the fruit tart and eclairs are simply amazing.

Frozen Gold

80 E Moreno Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

This funky, retro-themed ice cream shop is known for its decadent, loaded soft serve cones. At Frozen Gold, each ice cream cone is made with a flavored “core” running through the center and then rolled in a delicious assortment of toppings, such as cereal, candy, and cookies.

Best of all, you get a discount if you stop next door, before your dessert, for a slice of pizza at Fat Sully’s! All of their cones are amazing at Frozen Gold, but I’m a sucker for the Silly Rabbit (it’s rolled in Trix cereal!).

Marigold Cafe & Bakery

4605 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919

Marigold is a traditional French cafe with the most delightful bakery. They serve elegant dinners, delicious lunches, and the absolute best cakes I’ve ever had. Try them for a simple dessert date or go all out on a charming, relaxing dinner. Their chocolate mousse cakes are a customer favorite and I particularly love the raspberry flavor!

Decadent Dessert Bar

13375 Voyager Pkwy #110, Colorado Springs, CO 80921

Decadent Dessert Bar is a dream come true for those with a sweet tooth. They have a full menu of baked goods, including sticky buns and lemon bars, that are buttery and delicious. Their special signature dessert is their skillets, which are cookie or brownie bases loaded up with flavorful toppings. They also serve coffee, the perfect pairing with a decadent dessert. Try a brownie skillet –  you won’t be disappointed!

Amy’s Donuts

2704 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910

Amy’s Donuts is a Springs favorite for fanciful, loaded donuts. Their donuts are fried fresh each day and topped with a wide variety of delicious frostings and toppings. If you like crazy donuts topped with cereal, cookies, candy, and more, this is your place. Of course, they excel at all of the classic favorites as well.

From classic apple and pumpkin pies to more creative flavors like sangria, there’s something for everyone. This place is great for having a slice in their cozy cafe or getting a pie to take home! Paleta Bar

514 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

If you’re in the mood for a refreshing, sweet treat, then Paleta Bar in Colorado Springs is the perfect spot for you. They specialize in artisanal popsicles that are as unique as they are delicious. From fruity flavors like strawberry and mango to more adventurous options like avocado and bubble gum, you will have fun trying different combinations of popsicles and toppings. My favorite is the paleta con crema with whatever flavor I’m in the mood for!

Mona Lisa Fondue

733 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829

Okay, I cheated a little bit on this one. The Mona Lisa is technically in Manitou Springs, but it’s too good not to include! Manitou is a very close neighbor to Colorado Springs and worth the visit; you won’t even notice you left the city.

The Mona Lisa is a raclette and fondue restaurant that is perfect for leisurely, intimate dinners and special occasions. The restaurant requires reservations and offers a four-course meal, but underneath the restaurant is a cozy wine bar called Mona’s Cellar.

At the cellar, you can grab drinks and a pot of fondue for a fun and delicious dessert. They offer a variety of flavored chocolate fondue for dipping a delicious assortment of fruit, pastries, and other sweet treats. Not sure what to order? A classic pot of milk chocolate is a good place to start, or be adventurous with a pot of the Flaming Turtle fondue!
