If you’ve ever been to the quintessential seaside town of Rockport, MA, you know that it’s one of the hidden gems of New England.
Many of you know Cape Cod, but I’d be willing to bet that not as many are familiar with Cape Ann.
With beautiful beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, oceanfront houses, and plenty of things to do, this quiet little beach town packs a mighty punch come summertime, with all of the vacation goers and frequent travelers.
There are plenty of delicious restaurants in the area too, featuring pizza, the freshest catches, clam chowder, lobster rolls, and delicious local options.
And of course, the breakfast restaurants and cafes are some of the best restaurants that you will visit in the area.
There’s something that’s just so nice about waking up in the morning when you’re on vacation, getting a lazy start, and grabbing some good food to go, or sitting in a diner and taking your time enjoying your meal.
I don’t know about you, but for me, I go out to breakfast almost every day on my beach vacations.
Maybe it’s the salty air or ocean breeze, but breakfast food just tastes better near the ocean.
So I’m sure it doesn’t surprise you that the whole entire beautiful Rockport area is known for their amazing breakfast food, among many other things.
Whether you’re looking for a doughnut and coffee to go, some bacon and eggs, or a nice fruit plate as you enjoy the wind on your face, this is a great location to be in when you’re thinking about the most important meal of the day.
If I missed any great restaurants or additional dining options that you know of, be sure to let me know in the comments section. I would love to try any and all new places!

When it comes to casual harbor views, you really can’t beat Bean & Leaf.
This place offers casual breakfast and lunch with a view, serving up coffee, pastries, salads, and wraps, all in the heart of Rockport.
It’s one of my favorite places in the area, because you can get all the great benefits of an oceanside restaurant, all while in a cozy little cafe enjoying some of your favorite breakfast treats.
Red Skiff Restaurant
15 Mt Pleasant St, Rockport, MA 01966
There’s something in the air with these Rockport breakfast cafes, all of them are just so delicious.
You might recognize the Red Skiff Restaurant’s iconic exterior in the heart of historic Rockport, but if you’ve never eaten there, make sure to change that, and soon.
This great place is one of the best breakfast places that Rockport has to offer. Their friendly staff is consistently serving your favorite continental breakfast and lunch favorites, the freshest seafood in the area, pastries, and many many more.

Lobster tacos.

Charlie’s Place
83 Bass Ave, Gloucester, MA, 01930
One of the staples of Gloucester, just by Good Harbor Beach, is Charlie’s Place, an American fresh local seafood restaurant that serves up delicious breakfast each and every morning, all in the heart of this sleepy coastal town.
The daily specials on their breakfast menu change quite frequently, but on any given day, you can expect to find a wonderful assortment of hash dishes, omelets, eggs benedict, muffins, waffles, pancakes—you name it, they’ve got it.
Eat in or bring your breakfast to the beach. You’ll be happy you did, either way.
Willow Rest
1 Holly Street, Gloucester MA 01930
Though this isn’t technically a restaurant, and more of an old fashioned market, they still have some amazing breakfast foods.
Here, you can treat yourself to some frittatas and pancakes, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, burritos—you name it, they’ve got it.
Sometimes the best food can be found in places that aren’t traditional restaurants, and Willow Rest proves that theory time and time again, by serving up some of the Rockport area’s best breakfast.
This’ll sure to be a staple in your family when visiting the area!
Mom’s Kitchen
46 Commercial St, Gloucester, MA 01930
One Google review said that this place “embodies the term ‘home cooked food, friendly service, and atmosphere.’”
If that’s not enough to get you over here, I’m not sure what will be.
With delicious homemade breakfast offerings, like gooey cinnamon rolls, french toast, benedicts, and more, there’s nothing more you could ever hope for in the name of traditional hearty breakfast.
Come on by and see what all of the hype is about!
Atlantis Oceanfront Inn Hotel & Breakfast Cafe

Right in the heart of Gloucester is a laid back, seasonal hotel, with guest rooms complete with balconies with ocean views… and an on site breakfast cafe.
Seriously, what could be better than a casual dining spot, right at the hotel you’re staying at?
And best of all, this cafe is no joke.
With homemade corned beef hash, rustic style eggs, veggie frittatas, homemade waffles, muffins, and pancakes, you’re in for a treat.
Eat in house or take your food just a short walk away to the iconic Good Harbor Beach—whatever you do, just make sure you visit this great spot!

66 E Main St, Gloucester, MA 01930
Last but not least is a classic Phantom Gourmet favorite.
With ocean views, excellent service, and stellar reviews, Zeke’s Place has been a family name for years, with both vacationers and locals alike.
Here, you can enjoy homemade waffles, creative egg dishes, fresh baked bread, and more.
They even feature giant doughnuts, right in house!
You’d be doing it wrong if you didn’t stop by this perfect place when visiting the Rockport area.
