White Chocolate Peppermint Bark for Christmas

Ingredients

1 cup dark chocolate chips

2 cups white chocolate chips or white almond bark

1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional)

1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies

1/4 cup roasted almonds (optional)

Pinch of sea salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Spread the melted dark chocolate on the prepared baking sheet and let it set at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  4. Melt the white chocolate chips in the same manner, stirring in peppermint extract if desired.
  5. Pour the melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle crushed candy canes, almonds, or other toppings on top.
  7. Let the bark cool completely at room temperature until firm.
  8. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
