Description

We decided to put our own spin on a German pizza. This is something we came up with in our pizza lab so if you’re looking for the original recipe to make a German pizza, this isn’t it.

But, if you love pizza and like trying new things, give this German pizza a try.

Ingredients

Scale

14 oz pizza dough

1/4 lb Knockwursts

5 oz Sauerkrauts

4 sliced pickles

15 Tater Tots

Honey Mustard to taste

Instructions

  1. Stretch your pizza dough. Do it on a highly floured surface to make sure it doesn’t get too sticky. If you have a pizza peel and a pizza stone you will get the best results. If not, use a large baking sheet.
  2. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
  3. Heat some olive oil on medium-high heat in a large sauté pan. Cook your tater tots until they are golden brown. Remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel lined plate to remove the excess oil.
  4. Take your Knockwurst and slice it thin like pepperoni.
  5. Add the pizza sauce, mozzarella and grated Romano pizza to the dough.
  6. Place your knockwurst slices, and sauerkraut evenly around the pizza. Now add the crispy tater tots.
  7. Place the pizza into the preheated oven until the pizza is cooked and the cheese is melted. It should take about 10 – 15 minutes.
  8. Remove the pizza from the oven, add the pickles and drizzle on the honey mustard.
  9. Slice the pizza and crack an iced cold beer.
