Description

This is my go-to when I need a simple side dish that looks and tastes like I spent way more time on it than I did.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch of asparagus
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp kosher salt or sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (or use fresh garlic, minced)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Optional: freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Trim the woody ends or tough ends of the asparagus. (Bend each spear—it’ll naturally snap where it’s meant to.)
  3. Toss asparagus on a baking sheet or sheet pan with a little olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread in a single layer and roast for 12–15 minutes, until just tender and golden.
  5. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Notes

Pro Tip: For even crispier edges, try an air fryer asparagus version or toss them on your charcoal grill for a smoky flavor.
